American (English) remake of the French series HPI (2021)
Plot
Watch Morgan, a single mother of three, and how her extraordinary mind allows her to help solve a crime by reorganizing evidence during her job as a police cleaner. Despite her very high IQ, excellent memory, and deep knowledge of the mysterious, Morgan makes a number of fundamental legal mistakes that anyone who has ever watched a legal TV show should avoid. In the first episode, for example, she obtains a document from a locked safe in the suspect/victim’s law office that would never be admissible in court – evidence obtained illegally. It also could not be used to obtain other evidence – a violation of the legal doctrine of « fruit of the poisonous tree ».

In episode 2, she has to be reminded to wear gloves before touching evidence at a crime scene, and in issue #3, she removes all documented evidence from the police station, completely breaking the chain of evidence and everything she removed is no more. Remake of HPI (2021). I’m really into shows/movies that feature someone who has a unique ability hidden behind a personality that just doesn’t suit them. Something like a secret superpower.
The main character has exactly that
Her life seems a bit in shambles, she’s a complete mess, but… she’s incredibly smart and notices details that other experienced people miss. I was already a fan of Kaitlin, so it’s no surprise that I like her here too. She plays the stressed out girl so well!
I like that each episode solves the case
I’m tired of shows that drag on for one or more seasons. Just give me a solid story and a conclusion in less than an hour! This one does what it says on the tin. Well paced, with some funny lines and overall just entertaining to watch.
I’m really looking forward to more episodes
I just hope they don’t cancel it after one season like everyone else is doing these days. A solid MC you want to keep your fingers crossed for.
