Plot
Residents of a run-down French apartment building battle an army of deadly, rapidly multiplying spiders. The visually impressive buildings in which the action takes place were not created for this film; these are the Picasso Arenas in Noisy-le-Grand, near Paris, designed by architect Manuel Núñez Yanowsky in the 1980s. When TN is feeling the effects of the spider bite, he is seen wearing one of the new shoes. He was not wearing shoes before the bite.
They find many creative ways to display the creatures
Vermines (aka Infested) is a fun creature with a really cool vibe. You’ll feel it early on with the music and tone. It does a great job of creating individual characters and is generally well designed from a technical perspective. As for the spider web, it is amazing and the best aspect of the movie.
There are a few things that prevent me from re-watching
I wish they would make more fun horror movies like this instead of the thousands of boring, haunting movies that Hollywood makes. There are some non-spider scenes that go on too long. I like that they took the time to develop the characters, but there are a lot of parts where cutting something out wouldn’t have made the story or the movie meaningful. It seems the director was afraid to leave a single shot on the cutting room floor.
There are also some questionable parts, but nothing bad
And several scenes had multiple people shouting at the same time, making it difficult to watch when you have to read constant double lines of subtitles. Even with these flaws, I still enjoyed this movie as a one-time viewing. It is better than the recent spider called Sting. That screen time is an embarrassing ~35 seconds and is very boring.
