We explore key moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turn them upside down, taking viewers into uncharted territory. Chadwick Boseman’s final Marvel project before his death. Watcher: [Introductory narration for each episode] Time. Space. Reality. It’s more than a linear journey. It’s a prism of infinite possibilities, where one choice can branch into infinite realities, creating alternate worlds from the ones you know. I am the Watcher. I am your guide to these vast new realities. Follow me and ponder the question… « What if? ». After the Marvel logo was revealed, the show’s art style changed to animated form. It was taken from the film Marvel Studios: Legends: Guardians of the Multiverse (2023). A very simple episode where we rush to place these pieces in the puzzle correctly. And my expression was pretty straight when I watched this episode, as there was no excitement or even logical narrative, I get that it’s an animated show for kids, maybe? But probably only kids who know the entire MCU by now will enjoy it. Let’s see how the rest of the episodes turn out, but I’m definitely not too excited after this. Edit: Episode 2 gave a real picture of the MCU, it was creative and thoughtful with major « WHAT IF » moments. I loved seeing T’Challa on screen again. Episode 3 was a turning point though, and I had to edit this review. It was so exciting and thrilling to watch that I could watch an entire movie based on the episode. It reinvented the characters we know to such a degree that we want more. Hopefully I’ll have a 10 star edit by the end of the season. Edit II: Here’s another star for a « weird » but thought-provoking episode that was by far the best of the bunch in terms of script, voice acting, animation, and storyline. Special mention to Benedict Cumberbatch for voicing him as the boss. Kudos to Marvel for making this episode happen. However, by episode 5, the episode was downright entertaining, humorous, and engaging with quality animation, but again, it showed too much at once, not giving the audience enough time to absorb it all. Still a 9/10 for the series, at least until the next two episodes. They’ll have to beat episode 4 to get a 10 from me.
