Plot
It follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a television documentary journalist whose work is based on exposing wrongdoing in long-respected institutions. In several episodes, Jonathan uses the same set of lenses throughout, the medium-length telephoto. Such a lens will not be able to focus on close subjects, such as a selfie with Sasha or in the bedroom with Catherine.
At first it doesn’t seem like an absolute mystery like a tragic drama
The film starts out disturbing and shocking, but slowly builds into an intriguing story. I don’t know if Alfonso has an enemy on IMDB, which would explain the brutal and unfair 1 star ratings, but they are completely misplaced. But you start to feel that there is more to the story than the obvious good and bad characters.
Now, the gray cat
It gets darker and more complex with each episode. To the point where I feel like I have to come back here to change my original review and add stars. The cockroach situation is disturbing and revealing.
Curious, mischievous, fun and tender
Nitpick, but this is probably the first show I’ve seen that shows an actual cat/human relationship. How a cat is always by your side. I really appreciate a film that doesn’t present the cat as a distant or dark presence.
I hope he wins an Oscar!
The gray cat in this movie has more appeal than all the people combined and stealing every scene he appears in. It’s a great series and I’m all for it!
